Creating a Connection through Quality Content

He Said ~

Neath a crown of mongrel trees

I pulled that bothersome thread

Got down on my knees

Grabbed my pen and bowed my head

Tried to summon all that my heart finds true

And send it in my letter to you

Two years ago, on June 6th, we started The Pear Tree Project. For the past 48 months we have attempted to provide inspirational, humorous, moonstruck, melancholic, refreshing, and dependable content to create a sincere connection with our readers.

Things I found out through hard times and good

I wrote ’em all out in ink and blood

Dug deep in my soul and signed my name true

And sent it in my letter to you”

Written communications can be complex. To post your perceptions honestly carries the weight of offending someone else’s reality. To that point, we genuinely want to confer, our purpose is to unite – through compassion, conviction, and courage.

I took all the sunshine and rain

All my happiness and all my pain

The dark evening stars

And the morning sky of blue

And I sent it in my letter to you

We aspire to do better, and we will!

So Cheers, Cin Cin, Salud, Gānbēi, Chereko to you, and please continue this journey with us.

She Said ~

There are a million ways to celebrate freedom: speak loudly, live wildly, and love boldly.

Exist on purpose, struggle to prevent indifference, and the numbing effects of this repeated exposure to violence.

This work is necessary.

It takes deliberate will to swallow the jagged nails of corruption, day in and day out, but remain open to the good in the world. It takes consciousness to find silence, to listen to the voice of your heart, the reason for its beating.

It takes courage to endure the frantic paced shoveling of minutia into our mouths for consumption. It takes an inner knowing; to declare an inner peace; in times of external struggle.

There is no shortage of external distraction begging for our attention. There is no cessation to the demand for our complicity in things that remove our humanity.

There is no rest for the bellied-full beast and the nightmares deployed just for giggles; they are real.

We, my friends, are the resistance and the insistence on a new reality in which love is love is love is love is love, for all of us.

As we mark the two year anniversary of The Pear Tree Project, we say do not check out but instead choose to check in with the spaces that quell the noise.

To this colossal effort, we add our footprint with our words, snippets of ordinary life, and an abundant belief that together we can be the change.

Did You Know? The first formal Pride marches, commemorating the Stonewall Uprising, took place in 1970. While the Stonewall riots started on June 28, 1969, the first Pride marches, held in multiple cities, were on June 28, 1970, the one-year anniversary. The federal government officially recognized June as Gay & Lesbian Pride Month in 1999; presently known as LGBTQ+ Pride Month.
